Communities set Halloween events

Several area communities have scheduled times for Trick or Treating. Van Wert will have Trick or Treating from 4-6 p.m. this Saturday, October 27. In addition, the Fall Fright Fest will provide lots of activities and events, starting at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, while the Harvest Moon Festival also features a number of activities, beginning today at 4 p.m. and continuing into Saturday.

The village of Grover Hill has announced plans for its upcoming Halloween festivities this Saturday, with Trick or Treat scheduled for 5-6:30 p.m. TNT the Clown will perform from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Saturday, while the Grover Hill park boosters will serve a meal at the local Veterans of Foreign Wars Post from 4-8 p.m. A parade will begin at 7:30 Saturday evening.

Convoy Village Council has scheduled Trick of Treat times in that village for 5-6:30 p.m. this Saturday. Residents who want to participate should turn on their porch lights.

The annual Convoy Lions Club costume judging will be held following Trick of Treat, starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Convoy Fire Station. Categories will include Animals, Circus Characters, Ghosts and Goblins, Cartoon and TV Characters, Witches and Warlocks, Princes and Princesses, Cowboys and Indians, Space Characters and a Miscellaneous category.

Refreshments will also be served.
