Betty J. Ricker

Betty J. Ricker, 74, of Van Wert, died at 9:57 a.m. Monday, October 29, 2012, at Lima Memorial Hospital.

She was born January 17, 1938, in Van Wert, the daughter of the late Frank Miller Sr. and Mabel (Prichard) Allen. She married Gerald William “Jerry” Ricker, who also preceded her in death.

Survivors include five children, Danny Ray (Marcia) Ricker of Smithfield, N.C., Bobby Joe Ricker, Gerald “Junie” Ricker Jr., and Ricky Lee (Kim) Ricker, all of Van Wert, and Tammy Patricia (Rick) Dull of Scott; two brothers, Bob (Phyllis) Miller of Sturgis, Mich., and George (Rachel) Miller of North Carolina; 14 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Her stepfather, Chester Allen; and two brothers, Don Miller and Frank Miller Jr., also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, November 2, at First Church of God in Van Wert, with the Rev. Jacob J. Watts officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.

Calling hours are from 2-6 p.m. Thursday, November 1, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert.

Preferred memorials: First Church of God or the American Cancer Society.
