Dale E. La Rue

Dale E. La Rue, 90, of Van Wert, died at 2:04 a.m. Thursday, November 22, 2012, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

He was born September 26, 1922, in Van Wert, the son of the late Floyd D. and Grace (Spelbring) La Rue. On March 23, 1947, he married Helen (Shaffer) La Rue, who preceded him in death in 2001. In 2002, he married Edna I. Harman, who also preceded him in death, in 2010.

Survivors include three children, Pam (Frank) Sinning of Mountain Home, Ark., Kathy (Richard) Coffman of Hoagland, Ind., and Chris (Joe) Pohlman of Delphos; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 27, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, with graveside military rites performed by the combined honors units of American Legion Post 178 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803, both of Van Wert.

Calling hours are from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, November 26, at the funeral home.
