Doyle R. Shaw

Doyle R. Shaw, 82, of Van Wert, died at 1:19 a.m. Friday, November 23, 2012, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

He was born October 3, 1930, in Hoaglin Township, Van Wert County, the son of late Dewey and Leah (Richards) Shaw Sr.

Doyle loved antique cars and tractors, his family and friends. Also, he had an incredible knack for fixing things.

He is survives by a sister, Shirley (Gene) Giessler of Van Wert; one sister-in-law, Leah Shaw; 10 stepchildren, Glen Dunlap, Rex Temple, Rhonda (Bill) Temple, Vicky Temple, Chris Temple, Terry (Hilda) Temple, Cheryl (Matt) Bretz, Gina (Chad) Brigner and Robert Temple; 27 stepgrandchildren; 16 stepgreat-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A sister and brother-in-law, Ormal and Ralph Smith; and a brother, Dewey Shaw Jr., also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 27, at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert, with the Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.

Calling hours are from 3-7 p.m. Monday, November 26, and an hour prior to services Tuesday at the funeral home.
