Richard L. Williams

Richard L. Williams, 47, of Van Wert, died early Wednesday morning, November 21, 2012, at his residence.

He was born July 2, 1965, in Van Wert, the son of Betty (Kohn) Williams and Wayne Williams, who both survive in Van Wert.

Mr. Williams had worked for Williams Construction in Van Wert for 28 years. He had won several horseshoe competitions and loved hunting and boating. He was affectionately known as “Rocket Man.”

In addition to his parents, survivors include three children, Zachariah B.L. (Jessica) Williams of Van Wert, Nathan T. Williams of St. Marys and Kelsey R. Williams of Rockford; three brothers, Joel (Jennifer) Williams of Van Wert, Mike (Wendy) Williams of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Mark (Melissa) Williams of Van Wert; and three grandchildren, Jaden Williams, Zachariah Williams Jr. and Brynna Williams.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 27, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Rev. Robert Frake officiating.

Calling hours are from 5-8 p.m. Monday, November 26, at the funeral home.
