Elks announce students of the month

Van Wert Elks information

Van Wert Lodge 1197, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, has released the names of students from Crestview High School who are recipients of the “Students/Volunteers of the Month” for October, November and December.

Students are nominated by their high schools to receive this award. Each “Student/Volunteer of the Month” receives a monetary donation, along with a certificate from Van Wert Elks Lodge 1197 and the possibility of being named the “Student/Volunteer of the Year.”

Many students do community work, which is a requirement to graduate. This time is definitely considered, but more weight is given to students who give their “unrequired” time to their community.

In addition to the community service, the students are scored on their work experience, honors and awards, leadership, extracurricular activates, and an essay.
