Della Ellen Anderson

Della Ellen Anderson, 94, of Van Wert, died at 6:18 p.m. Thursday, November 29, 2012, at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert.

She was born March 14, 1918, in Parma, Mo., the daughter of the late Laura (Riggs) and Leonard Martin. On April 21, 1945, she married Sidney E. Anderson, who preceded her in death on December 9, 1992.

Della worked at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in St. Marys for 30 years. She was a member of Van Wert Apostolic Church. She loved her family greatly and also loved gardening.

Survivors include a daughter, Carol Fleagle of Van Wert; one son-in-law, Jeff Greenwell of New Carrollton, Md.; six grandchildren, Dale Greenwell of Durham, N.C., Glenn (Claire) Greenwell of Ellicott City, Md., Chris (Sue) Greenwell of Bowie, Md., Alan (Carmen) Greenwell and Stephanie Noel, both of Maryland, and Ben (Amy) Fleagle of Cloverdale; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

A daughter, Claudette Greenwell; three brothers, Virgil Martin, Earl Martin and Hershal Martin; and two sisters, Alma Jean Martin and Elsie Peterson, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 3, at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor Justin Sterrett officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens in St. Marys.

Calling hours are from 3-6 p.m. Sunday, December 2, at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials: Alzheimer’s Association or a charity of donor’s choice.
