Cougar wrestlers split in tri-match

DEFIANCE — The Van Wert varsity wrestling team split a tri-match at Defiance, beating Ottawa-Glandorf 48-15, but losing to the host Bulldogs 54-18.

Cougar wrestlers who won against both teams include Terrin Contreras at 285 pounds, Zach Thomas at 220 pounds and Colten Royer at 160 pounds. All three had pins in each of their matches.

Wrestlers who won against the Titans only include Andy Hammond at 126 pounds, Jacob Crisenberry at 132 pounds, Quinton Rutkowski at 138 pounds, Daniel Thompson at 152 pounds and Gabe Hill at 182 pounds. Van Wert gave up five matches to each team because of voids.
