Audrey Lynne Moore

Audrey Lynne Moore, 35, of Payne, went home to be with her Lord and Savior at 11:25 a.m. Saturday, December 15, 2012, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center after bravely fighting a lengthy battle with cancer.

Audrey was born in Paulding on February 16, 1977, a daughter of Nancy (Thompson) and Tony Burkley. On August 26, 2000, she married Chad Moore, who survives.

She was the director of student life at Indiana University-Purdue University at Fort Wayne, Ind., and enjoyed providing the orientation program for students and parents, and instilling leadership skills in her students to provide a more fulfilling college experience. Audrey also attended Woodburn (Ind.) Missionary Church.

She graduated from Paulding High School in 1995 and received a bachelor’s degree from Bowling Green State University in 1999. She also earned a master’s degree in education from Indiana University at IPFW in 2004.

Audrey will be sadly missed by her husband, Chad; son, Dane (10), daughter, Mallory (7), all at home; her parents, who survive in Payne; and a sister, Alison Burkley of Hilton Head Island, S.C.

Her paternal grandparents, Marion and Bonita Burkley and maternal grandparents, Virgil and Helen Thompson, preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 19, at Woodburn Mission Church, 5108 Bull Rapids Road in Woodburn, Ind., with the Rev. Joel DeSelm officiating. She will be laid to rest in Lehman Cemetery in Payne.

Calling hours are from 3-9 p.m. Tuesday, December 18, and an hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.
