David Lynn Girod

David Lynn Girod, 57, of Van Wert, died early Wednesday morning, December 19, 2012, at his residence.

He was born August 7, 1955, in Van Wert, the son of David C. and Ruth Alice (Snyder) Girod, both of whom survive in Van Wert.

Other survivors include four children, Kari (Eddy) Casto of Van Wert, Stephanie (Eric) Bulington of Chicago, Ill., Kristin Helmick of Canton and Felecia Girod of New Bavaria; a brother, Dean Girod of Van Wert; one sister, Ellen (Larry) Girod Dove of Van Wert; and 10 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 22, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Rev. Scott Campbell officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery in rural Van Wert County.

Calling hours are from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, December 21, at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials: Trinity United Methodist Church in Van Wert.
