Knights win big over Fort Jennings

CONVOY – The Crestview Knights got out to a big lead early on and cruised to a 60-33 non-conference win over Putnam County League team Fort Jennings on Tuesday night.
The Knights put the pressure on early, outscoring Jennings 14-2 in the first period. The Musketeers got into the game more in the second quarter, but so did Crestview, which went on a 19-12 second-quarter run to lead by 19, 33-14, at the half.
The Knights pushed the lead to 21 points, 45-24, at the end of the third stanza and outscored Jennings 15-12 in the final period for the lopsided final score.
Crestview was led by Damian Helm’s 15 points, while Connor Lautzenheiser added 10 points for the Knights. Fort Jennings was led by Brandon Kohli, who had 11 points and was the only Jennings player in double figures.
With the win, Crestview varsity remains unbeaten at 6-0, while the Musketeers are 1-5 overall.
The Knight junior varsity team also won big, 51-32, over Fort Jennings, to go to 5-1 on the year. The Musketeer JVs are winless at 0-6.
