Hermenia Ruth High

Hermenia Ruth High, 84, of Ohio City, died at 3:25 a.m. Saturday, December 22, 2012, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert.

She was born January 14, 1928, in Ohio City, the daughter of the late Laurel and Myrtle Garnet (Smalley) Hoffman. On May 18, 1947, she married Richard W. High Sr., who preceded her in death on August 16, 2000.

Other survivors included a son, Rick (Marty) High of rural Ohio City; and two grandsons.

A daughter, Jacquelyn Sue Braun; one brother, Laurel “Bud” Hoffman; and two sister, Kay Dilbone and Ida Elizabeth Prill, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, December 27, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with the Rev. Denise Brown officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City.

Calling hours are from 2-7 p.m. Wednesday, December 26, at the funeral home, where an Order of Eastern Star ceremony will be held at 7 that evening.
