Robert E. Swick
Robert E. Swick, 87, of Defiance and formerly of Delphos, died at 11:15 a.m. Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at Parkview North Hospital in Fort Wayne, Ind.
He was born August 23, 1925, in Delphos, the son of the late Clarence and Leona (Molter) Swick. On May 17, 1947, he married Rosemary (Hemker) Swick, who survives in Defiance.
Other survivors include two daughters, Cynthia “Cindy” (Don) Fischer of Maumee and Candyce “Candy” (Paul) Hawk of Defiance; two brothers, William “Bill” (Marie) Swick of Delphos and Jim (Barbara) Swick of Lima; a sister, Margaret Geise of Delphos; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
A brother, Tom Swick; and one sister, Helen Clark, also preceded him in death.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 5, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Delphos, with Father Todd Dominique officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery in Delphos, with graveside military rites performed by the Delphos Veterans Council and a Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus service.
Calling hours are from 2-8 p.m. Friday, January 4, at Harter and Schier Funeral Home in Delphos, where a parish wake will be held at 7:30 that evening.
Preferred memorials: St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
