Cougar swimmers defeated by Bryan

Van Wert swimming news

The Van Wert High School boys’ and girls’ swim teams hosted Bryan High School in a dual meet. Both Cougar teams were defeated by Bryan: the girls 89 -77 and boys 91-86.

Individual Van Wert swimmers placing first overall included Kase Schalois (100-meter butterfly and 1-meter diving), Kory Schlatter (100-meter backstroke), Eric Easley (100-meter breaststroke), and Karlyn Koontz (100-meter breaststroke).

First place relay was the boy’s 200-yard freestyle (Eric Easley, Jacob Scheidt, Adam Jurczyk, Kase Schalois).

The VWHS swim team will travel to Ottawa today to compete against Ottawa-Glandorf and St. Marys.
