VW swimmers split double dual meet

Van Wert swimming news

The Van Wert High School boys and girls traveled to the Putnam County YMCA to compete with St. Marys Memorial and Ottawa-Glandorf. This meet was scored as a double dual.

The Cougar boys defeated St Marys 87-71, but fell to Ottawa- Glandorf 71-91.  The Cougar girls also defeated St. Marys 79.5-78.5, and also fell to O-G 109-51. The Titan teams both defeated St. Marys.

Van Wert boys’ swimmers placing first overall included Eric Easley (200-yard individual medley and 100-yard butterfly) and Kase Schalois (500-yard freestyle.)

Best finishers for Van Wert girls were second place overall for Holly Hammond (200-yard freestyle) and Andi Foster (500-yard freestyle.)
