VWCS board OKs renewal for ballot
VWCS board news
The Van Wert City Board of Education unanimously approved a resolution placing the district’s 1-percent income tax on the May primary election ballot for renewal during a special meeting held Monday at the new Van Wert Early Childhood Center.
The only change, according to Superintendent Ken Amstutz, is that the district seeks to make the levy a continuing tax issue, rather than have it renewed every five years.
The superintendent and Treasurer Mike Ruen have stated that making the issue a continuing one would provide the district with a revenue stream it can depend on in the face of decreasing state funding and lower interest rates.
