Students getting out of class?

By Elyse Klinger
Crestview students celebrated the end of exams with a week full of events. Even without school Monday, some students are still getting out of class the rest of the week.
Tuesday, Crestview’s National Honors Society put together their annual blood drive. Last year, the blood drive was a huge success and this year was just as good. Many students and community members participated as there were many units given.
The Friday before Christmas break, students were expecting Matt Jernigan, a comedian. Since school was canceled that day, his act was rescheduled for tomorrow. Students are ready to get out of class to experience this entertainment.
This Saturday, Crestview’s competing show choir, Knight Vision, travels to Bishop Dwenger to compete against many other schools in their division. At their last competition, Knight Vision took home the best choreography, best tech crew, and the Grand Champion title. At this next competition, they expect the same results. Jazz Band also will be competing. In the past, they have gotten outstanding results and expect to do well this weekend.
In the sports atmosphere, the girls’ basketball team travels to Spencerville tonight for a 6 p.m. start. This weekend is also a big one for boys’ basketball as they fight through both of their games. Make sure to come support the boys Friday and Saturday as they take on Spencerville and Continental in the Ray Etzler Gymnasium. During Friday’s game, the softball state champions will receive their championship rings for the hard work they put forth last softball season.
In the middle school, they started their fundraiser today. All middle school students are selling magazines Jan. 24-31. Contact a middle school student if you are interested in supporting them by purchasing a magazine. The money raised will go towards incentives and projects for the kids.
