Chamber creates leads exchange group

VW Chamber of Commerce news

The Van Wert Area Chamber of Commerce has come up with just one more way to help members be successful in these current challenging economic times.

Chamber President/CEO Susan Munroe has announced the Chamber’s Lead Exchange program whose aim is to promote Chamber members’ services and products while also growing their base of clients. Members would strive to use other members’ business services personally, and commit to share legitimate, solid leads with other group members to help enhance each others’ business.

Applications for the program are being accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, with a committee formed to review applications for eligibility, since only one member is accepted in each business category.

Once accepted into the Leads Exchange program, members will pay dues of $25 every six months and can participate for a maximum of two years before having to reapply along with others in their business classification.

The group will meet the first and third Tuesdays each month, except for holidays, beginning at 7:30 a.m. Meetings will last approximately 45 minute and will be held at various locations.

According to Munroe, attendance at meetings is critical to make the program a success for participating businesses. Meetings will include an “announcements” period, followed by brief updates from each Leads Exchange member on new accounts since the last meeting, news in their industry or what type of person would be an ideal client for the business.

Members can then give a 5-7 minute presentation on their business and referral information will be exchanged following the presentations.

Members may not miss more than three meetings in a six-month period, although they can occasionally have a representative of their company attend in their place.

Those interested in the new program can call the Chamber office at 419.238.4390 or email chamber@vanwertchamber.com.
