Rose Louise Shellabarger

Rose Louise Shellabarger, 88, of Rockford, died at 7:57 a.m. Saturday, January 26, 2013, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center, where she had been a patient for the past week.

She was born November 9, 1924, in Rockford, the daughter of the late Harry and Rosa Bell (Gause) Roland. On November 9, 1945, she married Stan Shellabarger, who preceded her in death on September 5, 2012.

Survivors include four sons, Rodney (Dorene) Shellabarger of Van Wert, Craig (Barb) Shellabarger of Celina, Randy (Colleen) Shellabarger of Rockford and Mike (Angie) Shellabarger of Middle Point; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Gertrude Rowland of Van Wert and Norma Rowland of Willshire.

Two brothers, Carl “Bud” and John Rowland; and four sisters, Marie Lehman, Pauline Snyder, Martha Taylor and Betty Reish, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, January 31, at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford, with Pastor Marvin Schwartz officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Rockford.

Calling hours are from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, January 30, and an hour prior to services Thursday at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials: New Horizons Church in Rockford or the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.
