Cougar wrestlers 7th at WBL tourney

ELIDA — The Van Wert Cougar wrestling team finished a disappointing seventh in the Western Buckeye League wrestling tournament held Saturday at Elida, but had two individual champions in Terrin Contreras and Colten Royer.

As he has most of the year, Contreras dominated his WBL opponents, winning all three matches at  285 pounds by pins, while Royer had one pin in his three wins.

In addition, Cougar wrestlers Daniel Thompson (145 pounds) and Zack Thomas (220 pounds) finished third in their respective weight classes.

106 pounds — void.

113 pounds — void.

120 pounds — void.

126 pounds — void.

132 pounds — Jacob Crisenbery, 0-2.

138 pounds — Quinton Rutkowski, 0-2.

145 pounds — Daniel Thompson, 3-1, third.

152 pounds — Ryan Stoller, 1-2 (1 pin).

160 pounds — Colten Royer, 3-0 (1 pin).

170 pounds — void.

182 pounds — Jordan Daniels, 0-2.

195 pounds — Gabe Hill, 1-2 (1 pin).

220 pounds — Zack Thomas, 3-1 (2 pins).

285 pounds — Terrin Contreras, 3-0 (3 pins).
