Knights are getting things done

By Elyse Klinger

Students are getting things done this week at Crestview. This Wednesday, the sophomore class visited Vantage Career Center to decide whether or not they would like to finish their high school years at Vantage.

Thursday is the county spelling bee so come out and support Crestview’s participants.

Crestview’s competing show choir, Knight Vision, travels to DeKalb High School this Saturday to compete against over ten schools in their class. Also in the music department, solo and ensemble had five soloists from Crestview participate last weekend at St. Mary’s. Seniors Shelby Ripley and Quintin Bouillion received the highest rating for their solos. Sophomore Bella Chorvas also received a one for her solo. Junior Chelsea Hancock received a one for her piano solo and junior Daniel Joseph received a one for his trumpet solo.

Many might remember the boys’ basketball team that played in Columbus against Marion Local in 2003 but came up short of the championship trophy. During last Saturday’s game there was a reunion with the 2003 State Runner-Up Basketball Team.

Last November, all high school students took an Americanism Test sponsored by the VFW to see how much they knew about their government. The top scorers from each state travel to Washington, D.C., and Gettysburg, Penn., for a weeklong trip. There are 18 students chosen from 64,000 who get to go on this trip and junior Tanner Skelton was lucky enough to be one of them.
