Buckeye Youth sets event for veterans

Buckeye Youth is hosting its annual Valentines for Veterans event from 6:30-7:30 p.m. today at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803 in Van Wert.

Organization members will make Valentines for disabled veterans to show their appreciation to servicemen and women for all they have sacrificed for America. The Valentines will be sent to the Veterans Administration hospital in Fort Wayne, Ind., to be delivered to veterans  on Valentine’s Day.

Tonight’s event is open to the public and also includes the local color guard, as well as cake and punch served after the ceremony.

Buckeye Youth is a United Way agency.
