Lancer girls get win over Fort Jennings

The Lincolnview Lady Lancers got a small lead and built on it to beat Fort Jennings 58-42 in a non-conference game played Tuesday at home.
Lincolnview had a 14-10 lead at the end of a quarter and increased that by a point to lead by five, 25-20, at the half. The Lady Lancers went on an 18-13 run in the third quarter to lead by 10 points, 43-33, heading into the final period of play and outscored the Lady Musketeers 15-9 in the fourth quarter to win going away.
Julia Thatcher and Kaitlyn Brant led Lincolnview with 11 points apiece, while Katie Dye and Kaylee Thatcher had 9 points apiece.
The Lancers were 22 of 47 from field goal range (46.8 percent) and 3 of 9 from beyond the arc (33.3 percent). Lincolnview made 11 of 18 free throws on the night (61.1 percent). The Lady Musketeers made 16 of 44 field goals (36.4 percent), including 1 of 7 from three-point range (14.3 percent). Fort Jennings also canned 9 of 13 free throws (69.2 percent).
The Musketeers had the edge in rebounding, 25-23, but also had two more turnovers, 18-16. The Lancers had 12 steals, to nine for Fort Jennings.
With the win, Lincolnview is now 16-5 on the year.
