Marlyn Jeanne LaRue
Marlyn Jeanne LaRue, 87, of Convoy, died at 1:08 a.m. Monday, February 18, 2013, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Convoy.

She was born July 20, 1925, in McClure, the daughter of the late Othor and Ethel (Alspaugh) Erven. On April 24, 1948, in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne, Ind., she married Richard E. LaRue, who survives in Convoy.
Mrs. LaRue graduated from International Business College in Fort Wayne and is a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Convoy. She had worked at Drake’s Hardware in Convoy and Drs. Johnson and Adams’ office in Van Wert. She enjoyed sewing, reading, crossword puzzles, and playing the piano. After retirement, Marlyn and Richard traveled and spent winters in Mission, Texas, for many years.
In addition to her husband, survivors include six children, Stephen (Joan) LaRue of Tucson, Ariz., Chris (Julie) LaRue of Convoy, Peggy (Ed) Fritz of Woodburn, Ind., Susan (Jack) Gunsett of Convoy, Jill (Don) Carrier of Convoy, and Jean (Scott) Dickman of Convoy; 12 grandchildren, Kelly (Chad) Marks, Malissa Fritz, Michelle (Joe) Schaller, Michael (Cristy) Fritz, Adam Carrier, Brad (Ashley) Carrier, Mark (Cara) Carrier, Kevin (Missy) Dickman, Kristin (Curt) Oechsle, Kari (Matt) Plessinger, Matthew LaRue and Brooke LaRue; and six great-grandchildren.
A sister, Helen Rhodes; one brother, Robert Erven; and a grandson, Derek Gunsett, also preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 21, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Convoy, with the Rev. Michael Saylor officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery in Convoy.
Calling hours are from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, February 20, at Gearhart-Jurczyk Funeral Home in Convoy, and an hour prior to services Thursday at the church.
Preferred memorials: Alzheimer’s Association, Convoy EMS or Redeemer Lutheran Church.
