Michael Tunis

Michael Tunis, 64, of Van Wert, died the morning of Friday, March 1, 2013, at his residence.

He was born May 19, 1948, in Grant County, Ind., the son of the late William and Ethel (Sharp) Tunis.

Survivors include three daughters, Amanda N. (Jason) Morrison of Syracuse, Ind., Brook (Philip Kahle) Tunis of Van Wert and Courtney (Drew) Doner of Kaleen, Texas; two brothers, Terrence Tunis of Paulding and Scott (Reese) Tunis of Summerfield, Fla.; four sisters, Cheryl (Richard) Emerling and Tammy Dugan, both of Paulding, Judith Cook of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Lorna (Jeff) Beining of Ottawa; and four grandchildren.

A brother, Roger Tunis, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Monday, March 4, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor Randy Bevington officiating. Military rites will be performed by the combined honors unit of American Legion Post 178 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803, both of Van Wert.

Calling hours are from noon-3 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
