Buckeye Boys’ State selectees named

Buckeye Boys’ State news

The American Legion’s Buckeye Boys’ State program selection process recently ended and Legion Posts 178 in Van Wert and 346 in Ohio City are sending 10 students to Buckeye Boys’ State this year from Van Wert County.

Those selected include three students from Van Wert High School – Kyle Keber, Andrew Dingle and Quintin Mengerink; two from Lincolnview – Dalton West and Randall Burnett; one from Vantage Career Center – Nathan Ray Hooker; and four from Crestview High School – Kameron Grubaugh, Jon Young, Scott Miller and Copsey Bogle.

Buckeye Boys’ State participants will be introduced to all facets of state, county and local government in a hands-on environment. Many of the area’s past and present leaders were graduates of the Boys’ State program.

Sponsors for this year’s Buckeye Boys’ State participants include Middle Points Lions Club, Venedocia Lions Club, Wetzel Motorcycle Club, American Legion 40 et 8 Voiture 154, Amvets Post 698 in Middle Point, American Legion Post 178 Woman’s Auxiliary, Sons of the American Legion Squadron 178, Mr. and Mrs. George Bostic and Mr. and Mrs. John Metzger.
