Lincolnview to perform murder mystery

The Lincolnview High School Drama Club is busy, um, rehearsing for its production of Rehearsal for Murder, the school’s spring play that will be performed Saturday and Sunday, March 16-17, in the Marsh Foundation Auditorium.
Crystal Cully is directing the theatrical adaptation of the 1982 Edgar Award-winning film, with Laura Longstreth as assistant director.
The murder mystery, written by the “Rolls Royce” writing duo of Richard Levinson and William Link, adds a contemporary spin to the classic “whodunit” storyline.
The story follows somewhat of a “play within a play” theme. Successful playwright Alex Dennison is about to open his new show when suddenly the show’s star — who also happens to be Dennison’s fiancée — is found dead in her apartment.
What at first appears to be tragic suicide is later found to be murder. That news leads Dennison on a relentless pursuit to find her killer. With every character in the play a suspect, Dennison attempts to take Hamlet’s route to solving the murder by “catching the conscience” of the murderer — if the murderer has a conscience, that is.
A cast of 14 student actors will be performing the play on the stage of The Marsh Foundation Auditorium. Cast members include Caelyn Shaner, Tyler Stewart, Brooke Lehman, Mikinzie Dull, Daniel Sanderson, Chance Burnett, Evan Williams, Dylan Neate, Amberlyn Miller, Lainie Jones, Courtney Wendel, Zoey Lippi and Brittany Odaffer.
The technical crew includes light board operator Bryce Campbell and stage crew Kaite Dull and Nick Hammond.
Performance times will be 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 16, and 2 p.m. for a Sunday, March 17, matinee performance. Tickets can be purchased from any cast or crewmember or at the door the day of the performances.
