Richard Rex Potter
Richard Rex Potter, 69, of Van Wert, died at 3:28 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert.

He was born March 6, 1944, in Mansfield, the son of the late Olden Rex and Betty Jean (Herman) Potter. On May 24, 1963, he married Nancy (Maag) Potter, who survives.
Mr. Potter owned and operated Molly’s Restaurant in Van Wert and retired from Vantage Career Center, where he was an instructor in food service, then coordinator of Adult Education programs.
He was a member of Calvary Evangelical Church in Van Wert, where he had served as an elder, president of the Builders Sunday School class for many years and also served on various church committees. He was a graduate of Ontario High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1963-1966.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two sons, R. Brian (Julie) Potter of Plymouth, Mich., and Michael (Michelle) Potter of Albuquerque, N.M.; two daughters, Jill (Larry) Hoverman and Heather (Thomas) Riggenbach, both of Van Wert; two brothers, Robert (Theresa) Potter of Marion and Garry (Jerri) Potter of Crestline, Calif.; a sister, Judy (Ken) Cameron of Pottsboro, Texas; 11 grandchildren, Nick and Kathryn Potter, Ashtin, Danielle and Brittany Hoverman, Jasmine O’Kelley, Emily, Alexis and Taylor Potter, and Mackenzie, Tyler and Noah Riggenbach; and one great-grandson, Kayden Rogers.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, April 7, at Calvary Evangelical Church in Van Wert, with Pastor Clark Williman officiating.
Calling hours are from 2-7 p.m. Saturday, April 6, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert.
