Knights wrap up winter activities

Crestview senior government students took an overnight trip to Columbus  last Monday and Tuesday. Students toured state government buildings, including the Supreme Court, on Monday. Tuesday they visited the Wright Patterson Air Force Museum in Dayton, Ohio. Along with learning the history of Ohio’s government, the class was able to enjoy bowling and shopping.

Crestview juniors have begun preparing for this year’s prom. The theme is “City of Lights” and is centered around Paris. Students have already started to sign up for the event and dinner at Willow Bend.

Junior class president Brooke Bowen said, “I’m excited about how it will turn out but also nervous about getting everything ready on time.”

Crestview held both basketball banquets last week. The girls’ was last Tuesday and the boys’ last Thursday. Northwest Conference Scholar Athletes award for the girls went to Emily Bauer, Terra Crowle, Courtney Grote, Brady Guest, Megan Hartman, Mariah Henry, Kirstin Hicks, Kennis Mercer,and  Mackenzie Riggenbach. For the boys it went to Tyson Bolenbaugh, Cameron Etzler, Damian Helm, Connor Lautzenheiser, Josh Ream, Isaiah Simerman, and Preston Zaleski.

Senior Mariah Henry said, “Our season went great and most didn’t plan on achieving the record we did. I enjoyed everything about my last season.”

Crestview sophomores took the OGT last week. The students have been preparing daily for these tests that have already come and gone. Subjects that were tested were Reading, Writing, Math, Science, and Social Studies.

Sophomore Brett Ripley said, “The hardest test for me was writing and the easiest was math. I thought I was well prepared and the OGT prep helped a lot.”
