Club to host rifle clinic-shooting match

MIDDLE POINT — The Van Wert County Outdoorsmen Club will be hosting an M-1 Garand Clinic and Military Rifle Match on Saturday, March 30. The clinic will begin at 9:30 a.m. and the Military Rifle Match will start at 10 that morning.

The event is open to both members and non-members. The cost is only $2 and participants can shoot at either 100 or 200 yards and may also purchase 30.06 ammo for the match if they did not bring their own.  The club has a few M-1 Garands to loan if participants do not have a rifle to shoot. Those who use a club gun must purchase club ammo.

Those who have always wanted an M-1 Garand can qualify to purchase one through the Civilian Marksmanship Program by participating in the clinic and match.
