Lots of snow

Van Wert County received its largest snowfall of the season in spring, not winter, with Sunday’s storm generating 8.25 inches of snow in the county, according to County Emergency Management Director Rick McCoy. Other area communities received more, with Marion, Ind., receiving 11.5 inches, Hartford City, Ind., receiving 12 inches and Berne, Ind., 10.7 inches. The good news is the snow shouldn’t last long, with temperatures rising to 49 on Saturday and 52 on Easter Sunday, McCoy said. Here, snowflakes fall again Monday evening  in downtown Van Wert.
