Ohio City Blue Ribbon Workers meeting

The Ohio City Blue Ribbon Workers 4-H club met on Sunday, March 24. After opening the meeting, the group elected new officers. Results are as follows: Chris Kraner, president; Brooke Brown, vice president; Alyssa Bowen, treasurer; Tiffany Ricketts, secretary; Hannah Kraner, reporter; Ben Brown and Colt Marbaugh, Health and Safety officers; Andrew Morgan, Abby Marbaugh, Alexis Bowen, David May and Draya Rison, recreation officers.

During the meeting the group was treated to a presentation by Shannon Haas of Van Wert. Haas started her own business called Flour Loves Sugar and shared with the club the ins and outs of how her cookie baking began.

She also explained to the group that she began by using her grandmother’s cookie recipe and that owning a business in the baking industry takes will power, baking utensils, and lots of muscle! Members were fascinated to hear about the different flavors that Haas has created, such as Reese’s Loves Vanilla, Marshmallow Loves Toffee, Chocolate Loves Peanut Butter and many, many more flavors. Her cookies are available online on Facebook, at Perks Coffee Shop, and the Esty store. The group was delighted when Haas passed out several samples for them to try. It was unanimous that club members agreed her cookies are amazing and an experience all their own!
