Della Mae (Jones) Evans

Della Mae (Jones) Evans, 91, of Van Wert, died at 3:39 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert.

She was born December 8, 1921, in Lima, the daughter of the late Melvin Jones Sr. and Florance (Crocket) Jones. On November 1, 1947, she married Harry Evans, who preceded her in death on June 8, 1969.

Survivors include two daughters, Patricia (Willie) Eddins, and Ruth (George) Groves, both of Van Wert; a brother, Melvin Jones Jr. of Van Wert; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

A grandchild, Shanesa; one sister, Dolores Towsey; and a sister-in-law, Mary Jones, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, April 22, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor Victor Watts and the Rev. Gus Christo-Baker officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.

Calling hours are from 2-7 p.m. Sunday, April 21, at the funeral home.
