Knights lend a helping hand

Last week the Crestview NHS held their second blood drive of the year. The members of the group worked very hard asking people around the community to donate. Together we collected 77 units of blood. The Red Cross was so thankful for our donations that they are supporting our senior NHS members by giving out a $500 scholarship to one senior member.
As the prom events are all wrapped up, the halls fill with stories and conversation of the meal at Willow Bend, the decorations, the dance and after prom at the bowling alley. To the seniors it was a great last dance and event for friends. Senior Mekale Clifton said, “My last prom was very exciting and fun but the senior song made me realize how we have all grown to be great friends and how quickly time passes.” The juniors did a great job organizing the event.
The senior English class has organized a walk-a-thon for Saturday from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. at the Crestview High School Track. The funds received through this walk will be used to support a scholarship honoring Jon Amundson and the Sandra Dealey family. A $5 donation is greatly appreciated at the gate.
Varsity baseball and varsity softball both host Bluffton tonight at 5:00p.m. at the Crestview Athletic Complex. Both teams holding victorious records, they hope to keep the winning going throughout the end of their season and into tournaments. Senior Jake Harmon said, “I think this year has gotten off to a really good start. We all seem to be playing really well together and hope to keep the wins coming.”
