ODOT seeks input on proposed project

LIMA — The Ohio Department of Transportation District 1, in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), is seeking public comments regarding the following proposed project in Paulding County:

The proposed project is funded with federal funds from the Safe Routes to School Program. The Village of Paulding and the Paulding Exempted Village School District, in consultation with ODOT, have proposed a project on various village streets near the Paulding Elementary School and middle school.

This project will add new sidewalks along Water Street, from Jackson Street to Baldwin Street, along Emerald Road, from Johnson Road to the school, and along North Main Street, from Baldwin Street to Miles Street.

It will add new sidewalk at missing sections on Caroline Street, between Grant Street and Emerald Road, and also construct a raised concrete median in the main school driveway. This project will add school zone pavement markings and flashing signs along Water and Caroline streets and add curb extensions and crosswalk pavement markings at various intersections near the school.

Other work to improve and/or add sidewalks will occur on the school property as well.

Traffic during most of this project will be maintained at all times. Traffic on Water Street may be detoured for a short period. The construction of the project is currently scheduled for spring/summer 2014.
