Lancer baseball team loses to USV

Lincolnview baseball news

The Lincolnview Lancer baseball team got strong pitching, but still struggled at the plate in a 5-3 loss to Upper Scioto Valley on Thursday.

Kyle Williams took his first loss of the year on the mound and the Lancers are now 5-10 overall and 2-4 in the Northwest Conference.

“Kyle did a good job for us on the mound again, and we just couldn’t get a win for him,” said Lincolnview Coach Kevin Longstreth, noting that his team continues to play fairly well on defense.

“We need to continue to develop at the plate,” Longstreth added. “We have taken enough reps and played enough games for us to be better hitters than we are showing.”

Offensively, Conner McCleery was 1 for 1 at the plate, with two RBI and one run scored, while Troy Patterson as 1 for 3 with one RBI. Nick Leeth scored two runs and had two stolen bases in the contest.

The Lancers will next play Wayne Trace today at Wayne Trace.
