YWCA’s new kitchen
The YWCA got the chance Thursday to show off its new kitchen, thanks to $38,000 from the Lowe’s Charitable and Educational Foundation and Eaton Corporation, which donated a walk-in cooler to the project. Other donors included Laudick’s Jewelry and the Van Wert Area Chamber of Commerce Leadership Class. The project features new appliances, including a new dishwasher, new cupboards, flooring and countertops, as well as new windows in the adjacent dining area. A&A Mechanical did much of the work on the kitchen project. Those who haven’t seen the kitchen can still do so today, from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. YWCA Executive Director Stacy Looser said the kitchen would be a blessing for the YW’s Summer Food Program, which begins its 18th year soon after school is out.
