Crutchfield was accused of stabbing David Maxwell, 22, of 620 N. Washington St., during an altercation at Maxwell’s residence on November 3, 2012.

Two others were also sentenced on Wednesday. Dominique Brown, 27, of Defiance, was given three years of community control, which includes 180 days of electronically monitored house arrest, on a charge of aggravated assault, a felony of the fourth degree.

Brown, who was charged in connection with a home invasion burglary in a rural area of the county, earlier pleaded guilty to the charge on a prosecutor’s bill of information. In exchange for her guilty plea, charges of felonious assault and aggravated burglary were dismissed by the prosecutor’s office.

Amber Wollet, 32, of Ohio City, was also given three years of community control, including 30 days on electronically monitored house arrest, on a charge of aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony. Her driver’s license was also suspended for six months.

In addition to the sentencings, three other people entered changes of plea during hearings Wednesday in Common Pleas Court.

Ashley Sterling, 28, of Delphos, changed her plea to guilty on a charge of nonsupport of dependents, a felony of the fifth degree. She then requested admission to the prosecutor’s diversion program, which was granted by Judge Charles D. Steele.

Patrick Sweeten, 56, of Van Wert, changed his plea to guilty on a charge of assault on a police officer, a fourth-degree felony offense. A presentence investigation was ordered and sentencing scheduled for 9 a.m. Wednesday, July 10.

Terry Warren Jr., 26, of Van Wert, changed his plea to guilty to one count of possession of drugs, a felony of the fifth degree. A second drug possession count was dismissed in exchange for his guilty plea.

A presentence investigation was ordered by Judge Steele, who set sentencing for 9 a.m. July 10.
