VW Outdoorsmen set M-1 clinic, shoot

The Van Wert County Outdoorsmen Association is having an M-1 Garand rifle clinic and a D-Day Commemorative Rifle Match to remember America’s heroes, both past and present, on Saturday, June 8.  The clinic begins at 9:30 a.m. and the match begins at 10 that morning.

The eventis open to both members and nonmembers. The cost for the target is only $2 and participants can shoot at either 100 or 200 yards. Those attending who don’t bring their own ammunition may also purchase 30.06 ammo for the match.

The club has a few M-1s to loan people if they do not have a rifle; however, those who use club guns must purchase club ammo.

Those who have always wanted an M-1 Garand may qualify to purchase one through the Civilian Marksmanship Program by participating in the clinic and match.
