The reception for the 57th Annual Wassenberg June Art Exhibit is this Saturday at 7 p.m.  Please note the evening start time, which is necessary to accommodate Peony Festival activities.  Barbecue from Collins Fine Foods will be served along with other homemade side dishes from Wassenberg Art Center board members Nancy Jayne Smith and Pamela Purmort. YUM!
The event also includes craft beer, wine tasting, and the five-piece No Such Band, headed up by John Reichle.  Reichle and Mike Cleveland are returning musicians; Reichle entertained for us in 2011 and Mike Cleveland returns with his guitar after having played with The Reese Dailey Band here last year. Joining them are Keith Schwab on drums, bass guitar by Kevin Maynard, and vocals from Dave Raker.

This will be the last Wassenberg Annual June Art Exhibit at the Wassenberg home, and with much celebration we will reflect on many years of fond memories. Please note: This June 8 we will be starting at 7 p.m. to accommodate Peony Festival activities at our current location. Artist awards will be presented at 8 p.m.

This exhibit will be on display through June 30 and is sponsored by the Van Wert County Foundation, Van Wert Federal Savings Bank and Taylor Auto Sales. Admission is always free. Come and soak in the color, line and beauty that the artists in this area can produce.

The chairs are marching in! Stop by Friday and Saturday and see our booth at ArtRageous on Main this year to bid on an art chair created by accomplished area artists. Not only could you score a great functional chair but an original piece of art as well. These chairs often go very reasonably. From whimsical fire dragons, florals, leaves and space bunnies, to representation for our armed forces, there is bound to be a chair you would be proud to display at your home.

If you have any questions regarding exhibits, classes or programs or would like to sign up please call the Wassenberg Art Center at 419.238.6837, email info@wassenbergartcenter.org or register for classes online at wassenbergartcenter.org. Hours during exhibits are Tuesday through Sunday 1–5 p.m. The Wassenberg Art Center is located at 643 S. Washington St. in Van Wert.
