City closes streets for festival, concert

The following street closings will be in effect for Friday, June 7, through Saturday, June 8, due to the Peony Festival and ArtRageous on Main events, as well as the Phil Dirt & the Dozers concert this evening.

After 6 a.m. today, the 100 block of South Jefferson Street will be shut down and barricaded so that food vendors can locate there. After 3 p.m. today, the 100 block of West Central Avenue will be closed from Washington to Jefferson streets for amusement rides. Also the Peony Festival Car Show will shut down the 100 block of West Main Street and 200 block of West Main from Jefferson Street west to the bridge, and the 100 block of North Jefferson, from Main Street north to the NAPA auto parts store.

Handicap parking for the concert in the park will be in the parking spaces on the east end of the city parking lot located at 120 W. Central Ave.

In other to assist parks department personnel in maintaining Fountain Park and preparing for tonight’s concert, city officials ask that chairs not be placed in the park until noon on Friday, and thanks people for their cooperation.
