Bryan man dies in Defiance County crash

NEY — The Defiance Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a fatal traffic crash that occurred in the village of Ney in Defiance County.

At approximately 8:46 a.m. Tuesday, Robert E Kibble, 88, of Bryan, was operating a 2011 Ford Fusion southbound on Ohio 15 when he drove off the end of a T-intersection at the junction with Ohio 249 and struck a utility pole.

The Bryan man succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

State troopers were assisted at the scene by the Defiance County Sherriff’s Office, Delaware Tonwship EMS, Ney/Washington Township Fire Department, and Life Flight.

Alcohol is not suspected to be a factor in the crash and seatbelts were not in use. The crash remains under investigation.
