Flag Day ceremony

Van Wert Elks Lodge 1197, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks held its annual Flag Day ceremony on Wednesday at the lodge home. The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks sponsors the annual event. Assisting this year with the display of flags during the “History of the Flag” portion of the program was Van Wert Composite Squadron 296 of the Civil Air Patrol. The Elks is the first and only fraternal organization to mandate that, every year, each Elks Lodge must conduct a solemn and beautiful Flag Day ceremony.
