Joyce A. Poling, 78, of rural Convoy, died at 12:48 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana in Fort Wayne, Ind.

She was born July 24, 1934, in Fort Wayne, the daughter of the late Emanuel R. and Julia Juanita (Montgomery) Friedly. On July 29, 1951, she married Duane A. “Corky” Poling, who survives.

Mrs. Poling was a homemaker and a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Convoy, where she was a member of the Fidelitas Guild and a former church organist. She was a member of the Van Wert Amateur Radio Club, was a swimming instructor at the YWCA and played church volleyball.

In addition to her husband, survivors include two daughters, Joann K. (Stephen) Feasby of Convoy and Janette C. (Timothy) Boone of Cincinnati; two sons, David D. (Shala) Poling of Cincinnati and Douglas E. (Patti) Poling of Convoy; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

A great-grandchild also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 29, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Convoy, with Pastor Rita Bair officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery in Convoy.

Calling hours are from 2-7 p.m. Friday, June 28, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert and an hour prior to services Saturday at the church.

Preferred memorial: Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church.
