Grace E. Burley

Grace E. Burley, 83, of Van Wert, died at 2:52 p.m. Friday, June 28, 2013, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

She was born February 10, 1930, in Convoy, the daughter of the late William E. and Mary (Klinger) Harting. On February 24, 1951, she married Ross A. Burley, who preceded her in death on November 7, 1996.

Survivors include four children, Suzanne Sinning of Van Wert, Randy Burley of Ottoville, Mark A.(Fawn) Burley of Convoy and Teri (Bob) Lauer of Delphos; four brothers, Lawrence (Charlotte) Harting of Van Wert, Gerald Harting of Convoy, Gene (Marsha) Harting of Van Wert and Roger (Mary) Harting of Convoy; six grandchildren, Jason Sinning, Adam Sinning, Liz Williams, Dustin Burley, Jerad Burley, and Lydia Burley; six great-grandchildren, Haley, Taylor and Caleb Sinning; Krystyan Williams, Levi Williams and Hunter Burley; and her dog, Snickers.

A brother, Ralph Harting; and one sister, Olive Harting, who died in infancy, also preceded him in death.

Mrs. Burley retired as an executive secretary from Aeroquip Corporation in 1989 after 36 years of service. She was a volunteer for Community Health Professionals, and was a member of the Twigs organization.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 1, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery in Convoy.

Calling hours are from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, June 30, and an hour prior to services Monday at the funeral home.
