Roger D. Oglesbee

Roger D. Oglesbee, 66, of Celina and formerly of Van Wert, died at 12:15 p.m. Friday, June 28, 2013, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

He was born November 20, 1946, in Paulding County, the son of the late William Emerson and Rosemary (Webster) Oglesbee. On October 2, 1970, he married Mary Ellen (Helton) Oglesbee, who preceded him in death on April 23, 2012.

Survivors include five children, Roger Oglesbee Jr. of Celina, Beverly (Rick) Boroff and Cheryl Howell, both of Van Wert, Lucinda (Rick) Simpkins of Elida and Phillip (Cindy) Howell of Streetsboro; a sister, Mary Ann Rockwell of Traverse City, Mich.; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

A brother, Billy Oglesbee, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, July 1, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor Jodi Harr officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert, with graveside military rites performed by the combined honors unit of American Legion Post 178 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803, both of Van Wert.

Calling hours are from 1-5 p.m. Sunday, June 30, and an hour prior to services Monday at the funeral home.
