Perry C. Patsiavos

Perry C. Patsiavos, 81, of Van Wert, beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend, died at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, June 30, 2013, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

He was born November 10, 1931, in Springfield, the son of the late Chris and Anastasia Patsiavos. On February 19, 1977, he married Louella “Lu” Patsiavos, who preceded him in death on May 17, 2013.

Mr. Patsiavos was the retired owner-operator of the Medical Arts Pharmacy in Van Wert and was a pharmacist for Derry Drugs in Van Wert at the time of his death. He was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Fort Wayne, Ind., and a veteran of the United States Army.  He also belonged to Elks Lodge 1197 in Van Wert and was an avid golfer.

Survivors include three children, Tina (Paul) Vergilis of Cumming, Ga., Pete (Melissa) Patsiavos of Hudsonville, Mich., and Nicole (Mike) Nocilla of Canton, Ga.; a brother, Jim (Jan) Patsiavos of Springfield; one sister, Maria (John) Pease of Indianapolis, Ind.; and six grandchildren, Melina Vergilis, Nicholas, Analise and Olivia Patsiavos and Kelay and Kyle Nocilla.

A sister, Stella Ek, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at noon on Saturday, July 6, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with Father Andrew Walsh officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.

Calling hours are from 2-6 p.m. Friday, July 5, at the funeral home.

Preferred memorial: American Cancer Society.
