OSU Extension to hold food safety course

Ohio State University Extension for Van Wert County is offering the ServSafe®  food safety and sanitation certification course at the Van Wert Extension Office on Tuesday, July 16, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The ServSafe® program, sponsored by the National Restaurant Association, has become the industry standard in food-safety training and is accepted in almost all United States jurisdictions that require employee certification. The program is designed to provide food service employees with updated principles of safe food handling. The principles learned in this course can easily be applied and practiced by all food service workers.

Upon successful completion of the course and exam, participants receive a certificate of completion from ServSafe® and a certificate of completion from the Ohio Department of Health signifying the participant has successfully completed Level 1 Serving Safe Food Training.
