James M. Hill

James M. Hill, 81, of Van Wert, died at 9:55 p.m. Sunday, July 7, 2013, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

He was born March 10, 1932, in Rose Hill, Va., the son of the late Cecil William Hill and Florine May (Miller) Hill Hudson. On October 27, 1956, he married Ruth Elaine (Rice) Hill, who survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Ed Hill of Van Wert and Craig (Jenny Butler) Hill of Scott Depot, W.Va.; a daughter, Julie Marie (Kevin) Semer of Van Wert; four brothers, Jerry Hill of Schoolcraft, Mich., Kenneth (Barbara) Hill of The Colony, Texas, Harold (Linda) Hill of Rose Hill, Va., and David (Linda) Hill of Van Wert; three sisters, Gladys Fauble of Rockford, Jewel (Tex) Hensley of Rose Hill, Va., and Mary Walters of Van Wert; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; 36 nieces and nephews; and more than 60 great-nieces and nephews.

A brother, Henry Paul Hill and five brothers and sisters in infancy, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 11, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor Steve Savage officiating.

Calling hours are from 2-6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials: Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center, Van Wert Area Visiting Nurses or Trinity Friends Church in Van Wert.
