Mildred L. Osenga

Mildred L. Osenga, 85, of Cloverdale, died at 3:55 a.m. Thursday, July 11, 2013, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

She was born December 27, 1927, in Paulding County, the daughter of the late Kimber “Pete” and Edith (Mosier) Thatcher. She married Joseph “Joe” Osenga, who survives in Cloverdale.

Mrs. Osenga was employed at numerous jobs in Van Wert and Grover Hill. She was a former member of Antioch Christian Church in Cloverdale, a member of Ottoville Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary unit and a former member of the Grover Hill Community Club.

In addition to her husband, survivors include three children, Joe (Susan) Osenga of Fort Jennings, and Kim (Pam) Osenga and Scot (Marcia) Osenga, both of Van Wert; a sister, Margie Dunlap of Bellefontaine; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

A son, Dennis Pollock; and two sisters, Colleen Kline and Carol Jean Thatcher, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 15, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery in rural Van Wert County.

Calling hours are from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, July 14, at the funeral home.
